NARRATOR >> A few facts about OSAP: The amount of money you can get is based on your financial need. To determine that, OSAP looks at the costs of your program, and at how much income you and your family have.

You can get up to $12,410 for a two-term academic year. Or up to $19,210 for students who are married or have children.

Your annual debt is also capped at $7,400 no matter how much loan you receive. OSAP is interest-free during school, and you don't have to make any payments until six months after you graduate.

[The text “Repayment Assistance Plan” appears on the notebook, in the style of a student doodle.]

NARRATOR >> For qualified students who need help paying off their student loan after they finish school, there is the Repayment Assistance Plan. The 30% Off Ontario Tuition grant is available to qualified students; if you are applying for OSAP, you are automatically considered.

[An image of an application form appears, and an approval stamp is placed on it]

NARRATOR >> If you are wondering how much aid you might be able to receive through OSAP, check out the OSAP aid estimator. If you decide you are going to apply for OSAP, the online application is quick, easy and free. Your parents may need to help you fill out parts of the application that ask about their income.

[A calendar appears in the notebook, and the months flip away and out of sight]

NARRATOR >> You can submit your application right away or, you can save it if you need to get more information. But remember to check out the deadlines and try to apply before school starts.

Your submitted application will be reviewed to make sure it's complete and verified, and that you have sent all your supporting documents. Check your status online or on your mobile devices.

[A smartphone appears, and received a text message that reads, “Approved!”]

NARRATOR >> OSAP payments come in two installments, and are deposited right into your bank account, usually at the start of each term. Your first point of contact for help with OSAP is the Financial Aid Office at the school you are applying to.
